Colored Concrete in Evansville & Newburgh, IN
Rich, lasting color infused throughout your concrete for a premium finish.
Premium Colored Concrete Finishes
Colored concrete transforms an ordinary slab into an eye-catching feature that complements your home or business. McCaslin Concrete Contractors offers integral color and broadcast color hardener options for driveways, patios, sidewalks, and other concrete surfaces across Evansville, Newburgh, and the surrounding Tri-State area. Unlike surface-applied paints or coatings that peel and wear away, our coloring methods infuse pigment throughout the concrete itself for fade-resistant, long-lasting color.
Integral color is mixed into the concrete at the batch plant, producing a consistent tone throughout the entire slab. This means that minor surface scratches or wear do not reveal a different color underneath. It is the most uniform and lowest-maintenance option. Broadcast color hardener is applied to the surface during finishing and troweled in, producing a denser, harder surface with richer, more vibrant color. Hardener is especially popular for stamped concrete and high-traffic areas because of the added surface durability.
We offer a wide palette of earth tones, grays, tans, terracottas, and custom colors that pair beautifully with the natural landscape and architectural styles common in the Evansville area. During your consultation, we bring color charts and sample chips so you can see exactly how each option will look. Every colored concrete surface we install is sealed with a UV-resistant sealer to preserve the color intensity and protect against weathering.
Why Choose Us for Colored Concrete
Color Through the Full Depth
Integral color goes all the way through the slab, so scratches, chips, and wear do not reveal a different color underneath — unlike surface coatings.
Wide Color Palette
Choose from dozens of standard earth tones, grays, reds, and custom colors to match your home, landscape, or commercial brand aesthetic.
Enhanced Surface Hardness
Broadcast color hardener creates a denser, harder surface layer that resists abrasion and wear better than standard concrete, ideal for high-traffic areas.
UV & Fade Resistant
Iron oxide pigments used in concrete coloring are inherently UV-stable. Combined with quality sealer, the color maintains its richness for years.

How We Create Your Colored Concrete Finish
Color Consultation
We review color charts and sample chips at your property, discuss integral vs. hardener options, and recommend colors that complement your surroundings.
Batch & Prep
Concrete is batched with integral color at the plant (or hardener is prepared for broadcast application). The site is excavated, graded, and formed.
Pour & Color Application
Colored concrete is poured and finished. For hardener applications, color is broadcast onto the surface and troweled in for maximum density and vibrancy.
Cure & Seal
The surface cures under protection, then we apply a UV-resistant sealer that enhances the color and provides long-term weather protection.
Colored Concrete FAQ
Integral color is a pigment mixed into the entire batch of concrete, producing a uniform color throughout the slab. Color hardener is a powder broadcast onto the surface and troweled in, creating a denser surface with more intense, vibrant color. Integral is simpler and more uniform; hardener is harder and more vivid. We can use either or both depending on your project goals.
The iron oxide pigments used in quality concrete coloring are UV-stable and resist fading. However, the sealer on top can wear over time, making the surface appear lighter or chalky. Resealing every 2 to 3 years restores the color vibrancy and maintains protection. With proper maintenance, colored concrete looks great for decades.
Integral color typically adds $1 to $3 per square foot to the cost of standard concrete. Broadcast color hardener adds $2 to $4 per square foot because of the material cost and additional labor during finishing. The exact upcharge depends on the color selected and the project size. We include all color costs in our free estimates.
Integral color and broadcast hardener must be applied during the pour. For existing concrete, staining is the best option — acid or water-based stains can add color to cured surfaces. We also offer overlay systems that create a new colored surface over existing concrete. See our staining and overlay services for details.
In the Evansville area, the most popular choices are warm earth tones — sandstone, desert tan, terra cotta, and various grays. These colors complement the natural landscape and common home exteriors in southern Indiana. We bring sample chips to every consultation so you can compare options against your home and surroundings.
